Director International Sales-Shanghai-China

Report to: Market Business Development Manager
Job Location: Shanghai

This is a leading provider of group health care programmers to expatriate employees of large multinational organizations and their families.  With over 25 years’ experience in this field, it has established businesses worldwide with a global reputation for excellence. With its continuing global expansion, it now has an excellent opportunity for an enthusiastic, highly goal oriented and success driven individual to join the sales department to lead market entry into China.

Job Responsibilities:

• license acquisition
• research and develop new business opportunities within assigned industry categories/market segments
• assess prospective clients with existing expatriate insurance arrangements to identify and develop new business opportunities
• participate in specific projects, e.g. review of service standards, development of product and pricing strategy as well as product literature
• review service regularly to ensure retention of existing business
• raise profile of international business both internally and externally, establish company as a recognised authority in this field
• implement necessary controls and procedures in conjunction with functional managers as appropriate


Key Requirements:

• minimum eight years’ experience in international / expatriate healthcare provision at senior or sales-related level with a focus not only on growth but also on profitability
• strong capabilities to work independently to achieve ambitious new business targets
• possess technical/functional expertise: project management, analytical, financial skills and product knowledge
• solid capabilities to drive results thinking strategically and execute a strategy across multiple geographic regions as well as foster collaboration, value others perspectives and gain support and buy-in for organisational proposals

Education/professional qualifications required:

• a bachelor’s degree required; MBA or a master’s degree or equivalent experience
• minimum two to three years’ product experience
• fluency in English essential with Mandarin advantageous
• more than four years’ experience within cross-functional projects preferred, Six Sigma a plus
