Online Degrees Responsibilities:

Work very closely with the SW team to identify/select/contract with and manage strategic suppliers. Must also work with customer interface teams to drive customer requirements into the supply chain to protect Flextronics from legal/financial issues. Help customer interface teams understand the risks and status of software suppliers so that proper terms and communication can be worked out with customers. Help to develop and drive SW strategies to: provide the lowest possible cost of development, provide the safest approach to satisfying the terms and conditions of customer contracts, develop a software strategy that gives Flextronics a sustaining advantage with our OEM customers and provides a profitable business.

Requirements:

Capability:

• Must have the ability to work directly with Lawyers and to quickly learn the requirements of Flextronics legal.


• Must be able to work independently to negotiate significant contracts without much support or oversight.
• Must be willing to make difficult decisions and to have the ability to develop alternative ideas to reach compromise positions.
• Need to take charge and drive difficult discussions to conclusion.

Education/Experience:

• Four year college degree in business
• Contract negotiation experience
• Knowledge of legal concepts and how they relate to the SW development environment (examples: IPR, warranty, epidemic failure, acceptance procedure, failure analysis, Open Source requirements)
• Knowledge of the software development process and key aspects of integration/testing (object vs. source)
• Understanding of Statement of Work process (development of and management of). Experience with managing milestone process
• Prior experience with licensing SW and benchmarking capabilities would be good.
• An understanding of the technical and business selection criteria for suppliers.
• Needs some experience with writing legal documents and understanding the objectives of lawyers for the various sections of a contract
• Would be good to have experience with litigation, deposition, contract terminations/settlements.
