The employing company in Guangzhou was established in 2001, the majority is hold by the German headquarter. The Chinese partner as minority shareholder is not engaged in the management and its operations.
The Guangzhou company now has 500 employees and a turnover of EUR 5 million in 2007, expected EUR 8 million sales. It manufactures and sells high-quality products for writing and colouring.
The international group with headquarter in Germany employs some 6,500 people in 16 production sites and 19 sales organizations. It is one of the world’s oldest leading manufacturers and sellers of high-quality products for writing, colouring, and creative design – a famous name all over the world.
Responsibilities
- Direct and supervise all departments of the company in Guangzhou.
- Operational and strategic planning in co-ordination with the German parent company and the company’s Asian network.
- Financial and economic reports and plans; turnover and profit planning as well as controlling in cooperation with the CFO.
- Developing concepts for the market expansion.
- Product range planning, structuring and placement of the assortment/ products
- Sales policy, developing sales activities and advertising campaign; controlling of all sales activities
- Responsible for major customers and key accounts
- Roll-out of future outlets
- Personnel management (planning, recruitment, dismissal, employee retention, etc.)
- Monitoring the permanent compliance of quality and environmental management systems and standards throughout the company according to Western standards.
- Be the privileged contact person for the German headquarter.
- Ensure that the image and reputation of the Company as a modern, effective operation is preserved and strengthened in the eyes of the Company’s employees and customers.
- Reporting to the Member of the Board in the Headquarter in Germany
- Work location: Guangzhou, P.R. China
Requirements
- European, Singaporean, Malaysian, Hong Kong nationality or others
- University degree (business administration or engineering)
- Proved and successful track record in sales and marketing
- Expertise in a brand leadership is most advantageous.
- Knowledge and experience in general management, business administration, finance and controlling
- Experience in working with Chinese / in China
- Several years of working experience in a manufacturing company, experience especially in industry of writing and colouring products will be advantageous
- Excellent knowledge of English
- Basic knowledge of speaking Chinese (Putonghua) is a must; ready to improve Chinese language skills; advantageous will be fluent Chinese
