We currently have an opening for our Assembly facility in Nanhai, Foshan, where we assemble a variety of mechatronic products/sub assemblies for various clients.

Responsibilities

• Plan, develop and implement strategy for operational management and development so as to meet agreed organisational performance plans within agreed budgets and timescales (covering relevant areas of operation - e.g. manufacturing, distribution, administration, whatever falls within remit according to organisation's structure)
• Establish and maintain appropriate systems for measuring necessary aspects of operational management and development – KPI’s
• Monitor, measure and report on operational issues, opportunities and development plans and achievements within agreed formats and timescales
• Manage and develop direct reporting staff
• Manage and control departmental expenditure within agreed budgets
• Set and Manage performance targets
• Ensure staffing levels are met and managed
• Ensure professional management standards are adhered to
• Liaise with other functional/departmental managers so as to understand all necessary aspects and needs of operational development, and to ensure they are fully informed of operational objectives, purposes and achievements
• Maintain awareness and knowledge of contemporary operational development theory and methods and provide suitable interpretation to directors, managers and staff within the organisation
• Contribute to the evaluation and development of operational strategy and performance in co-optation with the executive team
• Ensure activities meet with and integrate with organisational requirements for quality management, health and safety, legal stipulations, environmental policies and general duty of care.

Required

• At least 5 years experience in similar capacity
• Fluent in written and spoken English
• Professional and positive approach

• Strong in building relationships and able to communicate at all levels
• Team player, and able to work on own initiative.
• Dynamic and Creative

Desired

• Experience in working in a china based production environment
• Some knowledge of spoken Chinese
• Design/Engineering background
• Knowledge of QMS/TQM

The Operations Director will focus on all of the recurring activities regarding execution of China based production contracts. This includes sourcing of components and sub- and or final assembly of products at AMS Products Assembly (Foshan) Co. Ltd. (AAF), QC, production planning, logistics and supply chain management.
